Weleda is a global leader in natural health and wellness, trusted for its plant-based remedies by healthcare professionals across conventional, complementary, and integrative medicine. With a strong legacy in science and sustainability, Weleda aimed to equip clinical teams with a mobile tool that bridges product knowledge and real-world patient care.

The Challenge

Although Weleda’s products are widely used and recommended, professionals often lacked a fast, mobile-friendly tool for accessing detailed product information during patient consultations. This created friction in care delivery—leading to missed opportunities, inconsistent recommendations, and reliance on outdated brochures or offline materials.

Weleda needed a digital solution that would:

  • Centralize product knowledge in one intuitive mobile app
  • Enable fast, symptom-based search and drug interaction checks
  • Integrate smoothly into high-paced, consultation-heavy workflows

My Role - Product Owner

As a Product Owner, I supported our UX team by translating Weleda’s extensive clinical documentation into actionable app logic, features, and structures. My focus was on turning complexity into clarity – ensuring the app would truly support professionals at the point of care.

I led the early discovery and definition phase, including:

  • Competitor research – Benchmarking apps like Medscape, Epocrates, and Ada to define core features and avoid overengineering
  • User journey mapping – Designing around the real-world needs of pharmacy teams, nurses, and holistic practitioners
  • Content modeling – Transforming dense PDF directories into structured, searchable app data
  • Feature planning – Including AI-powered symptom search, drug interaction tools, and detailed product views
  • Wireframe coordination – Shaping navigation and flow with clinical usability in mind

The Outcome

The result was a streamlined, mobile-first support tool that gives healthcare professionals fast access to Weleda’s natural remedy expertise—right when it’s needed. Whether checking for contraindications or recommending a product based on symptoms, users can make confident, informed choices in just a few taps.

From intelligent search to interaction checks, every feature was crafted to meet the realities of day-to-day clinical support.
