The Client
Storyboarder.ai is a professional AI-powered platform that helps filmmakers, creative teams, and content creators turn ideas into screenplays, shot lists, storyboards, and animatics - all in one place. It’s built for people who need more than an image generator: they need structure, narrative flow, and results that hold up in a production meeting.
The Challenge
The storyboarding space was heating up. Competitors were rolling out new features fast - and Storyboarder.ai needed to move quicker without losing its edge as the go-to tool for serious creatives. The mission: deliver genuinely useful, professional-grade features that made the platform smarter, faster, and more intuitive - without bloating it.
My Role
As Product Owner, I worked closely with the client to define, prioritize, and roll out high-impact features - fast. That meant translating strategic goals and user pain points into clear specs, working closely with design and devs, and keeping the roadmap focused on what actually mattered to professional users.
I led the development of key features like:
- AI Co-Author - A screenwriting assistant that helps users rewrite scenes using natural language (and proper formatting). Think GitHub Copilot, but for screenplays
- Pitch Deck Export - Auto-generates polished, presentation-ready PDFs with moodboards, treatments, and scene summaries
- Search & Replace for Images - Edit storyboard visuals with simple text commands. "Replace the sandwich with a donut" is now a valid command!
- Shot Change Detection - Alerts users when a shot has changed and needs to be refreshed
- Custom Aspect Ratios - Added support for square and vertical formats to go beyond the default 16:9
The Outcome
Our work helped Storyboarder.ai stay sharp in a competitive space, delivering new features that met the needs of fast-moving creative teams. The platform became more flexible, more powerful, and even more aligned with the way professionals actually work - freeing them up to focus on telling better stories, not fighting with tools.
